Unfortunately there had been a lot of rain and water levels were so high that we couldn’t get under the bridges to access the Moselle. “We had a premium room, but it was still small, whilst the tiny table and 2 chairs were a nice idea they were not comfortable and really just took up valuable space. The shower room was a good size and well appointed.
The transfer to the boat was swift and it was nice that despite a late arrival we could get a snack at the bar and a night cap before bed. The communal rooms were functional. The cleaning was a little haphazard, finding someone else’s socks in the wardrobe and pants under the curtain was a little off putting.
The food was ample and mostly very good, there was a bit of a rush for the seating at 7pm so 6 of us could sit together but with a bit of organisation it was ok. The ships entertainment was ok, a bit of light-hearted fun with the quizzes and the music was pleasant. The trips off the boat were well organised and thoughtful to those people with mobility problems. The guides were very knowledgeable of the area and gave enough information. The Driver of our coach was good helping those that needed it. I didn’t expect a visit to the Douro Valley to be cheap, but I did think that based on ocean cruising it was expensive and not as luxurious as I thought it was going to be given the cost.
We were over charged on a spa treatment and despite emails were never refunded. The little attention to detail that make a big difference were missing which was a shame.”

I get seasick on open water. Will I get ill on a river cruise?
Seasickness is unheard of on our river cruises because the journeys are smooth and calm. Even people with serious seasickness problems don’t report any issues when they cruise with us. Remember that land is always visible from both sides of the ship, and that can help manage feelings of nausea or anxiety.
Can I explore destinations on my own?

What should I bring to wear for my river cruise?
