“We booked the New Year Getaway (Maya) Cruise last year starting on December 30th, in Mainz. We are from the US, arranged our own air travel, and stayed at the Hyatt Hotel on the river on the 29th. This was perfect. It was a five-minute walk to the boat based on where they docked last year. The second night, New Year’s Eve, we were docked in Frankfurt. There is no way that I can describe how fantastic the fireworks display was; it was worth the whole cruise experience. I must add that the Cruise director on the Maya was totally outstanding.”

“I have just been on TUI Isla on the Moselle, the Wines and Vines trip. This was our first cruise with Tui; we have done three others with different companies. The Wellness Suite was fab and a huge plus; I haven’t seen one as good as that on other cruises. The two bars were great if you wanted a more peaceful place to go, plus there are two restaurants. The value for money is excellent, and we saved over £2000 on TUI Isla compared to a similar cruise with another company. Drinks were included with lunch and dinner, and gratuities were also included, plus you had an allowance for booking your trips. Consequently, the value for money was 10-star.”

How big are the balconies on a TUI River Cruise ship?

All TUI cruise ships have French balconies. These look like a standard balcony but are too shallow to step out onto, and there is a metal railing for passenger safety. However, sliding glass doors allow guests to experience fresh air, the water lapping against the ship’s side, and the other unique sounds of river life.

Is there a dress code on board a TUI River Cruise?

There is a dress code on board TUI ships, and that’s ‘smart casual.’ During the day, the etiquette is relatively relaxed; however, it’s not possible to wear beachwear in the restaurants. Although not formal, the dress code is a little smarter in the evening. Men are required to wear long trousers or smart tailored shorts, a shirt or polo shirt, and closed shoes. Every TUI cruise has a Gala dinner, and guests can dress up if they want to.

What currency is used on board TUI River Cruises?

Our TUI river ships are all cashless, so anything you want to buy during your voyage is charged to your cabin account. These accounts are opened when you board the ship and settled by debit or credit card just before guests disembark. Everything on board the vessel is priced in Euros.

Can I take medical equipment on a TUI River Cruise?
