ARUK’s role is solely to provide money for studies and projects researching Alzheimer’s disease, including related conditions such as Lewy Body disease, vascular dementia, and frontotemporal dementias.

ARUK has over £26m in active grants researching the cause, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of Alzheimer’s and related dementias. A key focus is on research that delivers tangible patient benefits, such as slowing the progression of dementia and, ultimately, finding a cure.
