Day 1

Basel

Arrive in Basel and embark your luxury cruise ship, home for the next fourteen nights.

Day 2

Lucerne & Bernese Oberland

Drive to Lucerne, Switzerland’s most beautiful city, situated amidst spectacular mountain scenery. Later, head to the Bernese Oberland, the Alpine heartland, and enjoy quintessential Swiss views during a trip on the mountain railway.

Day 3

Breisach & The Black Forest

Sail from Basel to the ancient town of Breisach, with its impressive Romanesque-Gothic cathedral. Later, drive through the Black Forest mountains, a landscape of fables, to Titisee. After dinner, enjoy a performance on the ship by a solo violinist.

Day 4

Strasbourg

Arrive in Strasbourg, the capital of the Alsace region, with a charming 16th-century old town and storybook architecture. Explore the pretty streets, canals, and bridges on a guided tour of the Petite France quarter and Notre Dame Cathedral.

Day 5

Speyer

Docking the night before in this medieval gem, discover the delights of Speyer, one of Germany’s oldest cities, on a fascinating guided tour that includes the magnificent Imperial Cathedral. Tonight, enjoy the Captain’s Dinner on board the ship.

Day 6

Rüdesheim, Rhine Gorge & Koblenz

Enjoy a walking tour of Rüdesheim, with pretty timbered houses amongst wooded hillsides and terraced vineyards. This cruise also navigates the legendary Rhine Gorge and visits Koblenz before a Rhenish folk music performance after dinner.

Day 7

Cologne

Depart Koblenz and sail to Cologne through picturesque Rhineland scenery, the famous ruined bridge at Remagen, a visible and strategic military target during the Second World War. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore the wonders of Cologne.

Day 8

Cologne

Take free time to discover Cologne, Germany’s fourth-largest city. Cologne has 31 museums, a world-famous cathedral, and a long and fascinating history. Enjoy fantastic views of the city and the Rhine from a cable car ride.

Day 9

Cochem

Cochem is at the heart of the Moselle wine trade. Guests enjoy a guided tour through the maze of quaint streets, unusual shops, and wine cellars. A live folk music performance on board ship follows a tour of this captivating riverside town.

Day 10

Trier

Depart Cochem and sail the patchwork landscape of Moselle’s famous vineyards before docking in Zell. A short drive takes guests to Trier, an ancient and historic city dating to Roman times and a UNESCO World-Heritage site.

Day 11

Bernkastel

A local expert presents the delights of Bernkastel with its pretty half-timbered houses, cobbled streets, and picturesque market square. It really is taken straight from the pages of a fairytale. Today, enjoy some relaxing sailing time too.

Day 12

Koblenz & Boppard

Wander the streets of Koblenz, with its remarkable history spanning two millennia and historic squares packed with tempting shops and coffee houses. Later, stop at Boppard, the ‘Pearl of the Rhine,’ a famously beautiful and historic Rhineland town.

Day 13

Rhine Gorge & Rüdesheim

A cruise highlight is sailing the dramatic Rhine Gorge, a UNESCO World-Heritage site. Return later to Rüdesheim, a charming town and a wine-lover’s paradise. The Captain hosts another gourmet dinner with a special regional menu this evening.

Day 14

Cologne

Join a historic city trail and uncover the delights of Cologne with its famous twin-spired cathedral and iconic stained-glass windows. After the farewell dinner, enjoy a presentation and tasting from Cologne’s Lindt Chocolate Museum.

Day 15

Cologne

Disembark your luxury cruise ship and bid farewell to the Rhine as you begin your journey back to the UK.
