DAY 2
Vernon-Les Andelys

Vernon-Les Andelys

Enjoy a guided excursion to Giverny, where guests can view Claude Monet’s Garden, the inspiration for some of his paintings, including a flower garden called Clos Normand in front of the house and a Japanese-inspired water garden. The other option is a visit to Chateau de Bizy, built in 1675 and surrounded by beautiful gardens and grounds. There’s also a guided hike for guests who want to explore Vernon with its pretty half-timbered houses. Enjoy the onboard pasty demonstration with crêpe tasting for those who wish to luxuriate on deck.

DAY 3
Caudebec

Discover some of Normandy’s most stunningly beautiful Benedictine Abbeys, like St Wandrille, Jumiege and Boscherville. There is also a Cider route which allows guests to visit apple orchards and see how Normandy’s famous tipple is produced, complete with some tastings, of course!

DAY 4

Seine River Cruise Reviews

“We’ve visited Paris a lot and had plenty of driving holidays in France, so we thought we’d try something a bit different. Paris from the Seine is a wholly alternative way to view the city and something every visitor should try. What’s best about the cruise is that it starts and finishes in the city, but you can also explore beautiful Normandy. The guided itineraries were excellent, particularly the one of the Normandy beachheads, but there was no pressure to join them. The vessel was luxurious, and the food excellent.”

Judy and Alistair, London

“We wanted an alternative way to visit Paris, and cruising the Seine is just that. There’s lots to see and do on the guided tours, but you don’t have to follow those, and we went off and did our own thing most of the time. The tour guides were very generous with their information and gave us lots of tips even though we weren’t joining the programme. It’s great that you can tailor your cruise experience to suit your personal requirements, and the cruiser was heaven to come back to at the end of a long day, very comfortable with great food and service.”

Keith and Bella, Lancaster

“This cruise was a surprise present for my wife, she’s never visited Paris and never cruised, so it was intended to be a double whammy. The whole experience was just perfect from start to finish. We did sneak a couple of days just lounging on deck because it was so beautiful. The port excursions were interesting and really well-planned, and the food was just everything you would expect from a French menu. Five stars!”

Michael, Bournemouth

“As experienced river cruisers, the Seine was a departure for us as we usually tour the rivers of Germany and Eastern Europe. It was our first time with this cruise line, and we were impressed with the vessel’s quality and food and service. The port itineraries are really varied and interesting, better than others we’ve experienced, and they make a real effort to seek out hidden gems plus all the usual top attractions. The boat was the height of comfort and luxury, and the staff couldn’t do enough for us, so we’ll definitely be booking again.”

Pam and Peter, St Albans

Seine River Cruises 2024 & 2025

A first for me as I usually cruise the rivers in Germany, the Seine river cruise was a really nice blend of city life and peaceful Normandy countryside. I have visited Paris many times, but the impression of this city from the river was different. This is one of the most varied river cruises I have sailed on because of the mix of town and country, and you get a real sense of how important the Seine is culturally and historically as it flows from Paris to the English Channel. This cruise will appeal to so many different people, and of course, it goes without saying that the food and wine are just excellent!

How long is Seine River Cruise?

Our Seine River Cruises are typically seven days long. Some Seine cruises run in both directions, allowing our customers to choose to board in Paris and travel along the Seine, disembarking on Le Harve, or oppositely, customers can board in Le Harve and disembarking in Paris at the end of the cruise.

What is the geography of the River Seine?

The Seine River, a prominent waterway in northern France, flows gracefully through the picturesque landscapes of the Île-de-France region. Spanning approximately 777 kilometres, its journey begins in the Langres Plateau, nestled in the country’s northeastern part. As it meanders downstream, the Seine passes through several significant cities, including Troyes, Paris, and Rouen, before eventually reaching the English Channel near Le Havre.

With an extensive watershed covering around 78,000 square kilometres, it boasts one of the largest drainage basins in France. Tributaries, such as the Marne, Oise, Eure, and Yonne rivers, contribute to its flow. The river’s estuary near Le Havre is a vital maritime gateway for France, facilitating access to the English Channel and the North Sea. The Seine River’s diverse surroundings, encompassing charming countryside and thriving urban centres, make it a key cultural, economic, and environmental asset for the country.

Along its course, historical bridges add to the river’s allure, making it an attractive destination for tourists seeking to uncover its rich heritage and breathtaking beauty through delightful river cruises.
