Scenic Gems of the Danube: Vienna to Budapest Cruise Review

“Not our first time on the Danube but our first cruise with Saga Travel and we were seriously impressed by the quality of the ship and the level of service on offer. Unlike other cruise operators, this ship is bespoke-built, and the attention to detail shines through, taking luxury cruising to a whole new level. This cruise is great because it blends iconic capital cities with smaller, more unusual port stops, giving a real authentic flavour of this section of the Danube. We’ll certainly be taking this cruise again and others with Saga.”

Scenic Gems of the Danube: Vienna to Budapest FAQ

Are there medical services on board the ship?

Saga ships don’t have a resident doctor on board but there is always at least one trained first aider available for guests who are taken ill or who may have an accident. It’s worth noting that if you are bringing medication with you, it’s useful to write down the different medicines and the dosage and keep this in an accessible location in case you do become ill during your cruise.

How are mealtimes arranged on board the ship?

Breakfasts are always served as a buffet. At lunch, you can have a buffet or waiter service at your table. Dinner is always waiter served. Breakfast is available from 7.30 am to 9.30 am; lunch is midday, and dinner is at 7 pm. Sometimes, lunch and dinner times will vary depending on shore excursions.

When is the balance payment due for my holiday?

The balance payment for your cruise is due 90 days before you travel. You can pay the balance over the phone or online if you prefer by clicking on ‘Manage My Booking.’ You can use different cards to pay the deposit and the balance or the same card. We don’t keep card details, so if you want to use the same card to pay the balance, you will still need to make that payment online or over the phone; we won’t automatically charge your card.
