Day 1
Nuremberg (EMBARK)
Board the ship to begin your Iconic Christmas Markets cruise with AMAwaterways.
Day 2
Nuremberg
Join a city tour of WWII highlights, walk Nuremberg’s paved streets to the Imperial Castle and 900 year-old city and pay a visit to some of the local Christmas Markets. Later, visit Nuremberg’s Christkindlesmarkt and cross the Continental Divide via the Main-Danube Canal.
Day 3
Regensburg
Visit this well-preserved UNESCO World Heritage Site. Join a guided walking tour around the city, view the Old Town Hall, Porta Praetoria and the Old Town Christmas Markets.
Sample Barvaria’s specialties; beer, sausage and pretzels or bike to the base of Walhalla and view the neoclassical white marble temple. Wander the Christmas Markets in Thurn and Taxis.
Day 4
Passau / Salzburg
Join a walking tour through the city and visit the Christmas Market. If you feel like being active, opt into a guided bike tour along the Danube.
Alternatively, you can travel through the Austrian Alps to Salzburg, birthplace of Mozart. Enjoy a walking-tour of the UNESCO-designated town, its cathedral, Christmas Markets and Hellbrunn Palace.
Day 5
Melk & Wachau Valley & Vienna
Enjoy Europe’s most revered Baroque monasteries. Visit the magnificent Benedictine Abbey which houses a museum. Alternatively, opt for a guided bike tour around Melk.
Finish the day with a scenic cruising down the UNESCO Wachau Valley before arriving in Vienna to explore the Christmas Markets.
Day 6
Vienna
Join a tour showcasing the majestic Opera House, the former Imperial Palace of Habsburgs and the historic city centre. Afterwards, visit the Christmas Markets or join a guided bike tour down the Danube River. Visit the Schönbrunn Palace, with its giant Christmas Tree.
Day 7
Budapest
