Burgundy & Provence FAQ

Find answers to some of the most common questions about river cruising here.

Where will the ship dock?

In many ports, the ship is small enough to dock within easy reach of the town or city centre. Sometimes, the ship will need to dock further away due to water levels or if a port is busy. A coach is provided to transfer guests to their destination.

How do I book optional excursions once onboard the ship?

Optional excursions are booked with your Cruise Manager and cannot be reserved before you arrive on board the ship. Excursions require a minimum number of people, so we cannot guarantee that every tour will go ahead if there are low bookings. Some Masterpiece Collection tours may be booked in advance.

Can I smoke on board the S.S. Catherine?

Smoking is allowed on the ship’s Sun Deck, not in the cabins, suites, staterooms, or other public areas. Smoking is also prohibited on shore tours and excursions, and many sites and attractions have a no-smoking policy. The smoking prohibition includes tobacco, e-cigarettes, and vape devices.
