Jump into an itinerary packed with treats, tours, trains and other treasures. Led by your Avalon Adventure Host, you’ll hike, bike, taste and sail your way through a variety of attractions and adventures.
Day 1
Vienna
Welcome to Vienna – at 6pm you’ll enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant with your our Director and fellow guests.
Day 2
Vienna
Today, enjoy guided sightseeing – including visits to Schonbrunn Palace and Heldenplatz.
Day 3
Krems / Mondsee / Salzburg
Today, you’ll enjoy multiple stops. In Krems, you’ll enjoy a Danube River Cruise. In Mondsee, you’ll visit the Parish Church and in Salzburg you’ll embark on a guided walking tour.
Day 4
Salzburg
Enjoy a day at leisure to explore Salzburg according to your own tastes.
Day 5
Innsbruck
Walk through the Old Town to the Golden Roof, before enjoying some free time to browse.
Day 6
St. Maritz / Chur
In Chur, take the Glacier Express train to Zermatt with included on-board lunch.
Day 7
Zermatt
Enjoy a day spent at leisure.
Day 8
Zermatt / Berne
Today, embark on a mountain train ride to Tasch. After, take a guided visit to Chiron Castle with wine tasting.
Day 9
Berne / Interlaken
At Berne, enjoy a guided walking tour – including a stop at bear park.
Day 10
Lucerne
Embark on a walking tour around Lucerne, followed by a private evening boat cruise and farewell dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 11
Lucerne / Basel (EMBARK)
Transfer from Lucerne to Basel in order to board your suite ship.
Day 12
Breisach
Bike down the Rhine alongside your Adventure Host, join a full-day guided tour to the Black Forest or pay a visit to a local winery in Breisach.
You may also choose to embark on an optional excursion to Colmar in the morning.
Day 13
Strasbourg
Discover Strasbourg by bike alongside your Adventure Host or join a city sightseeing tour.
You may also join an optional excursion to Maginot Line.
Day 14
Mainz
Wander through Heidelberg alongside your Adventure Host, tour Heidelberg Castle or enjoy a guided city walk in Mainz.
This evening, there will be live entertainment on board your ship.
Day 15
Rudesheim / Rhine Gorge / Koblenz
Hike through the vineyards of Rudesheim or take a guided tour of the Mechanical Music Museum.
En route to Koblenz, enjoy a scenic sailing through the UNESCO-designated Rhine Gorge.
Upon arrival, enjoy time at leisure to explore as you please.
Day 16
Cologne
Bike alongside your Adventure Host, embark on a walking tour of Cologne’s important Jewish heritage sites or enjoy a guided city walk of Cologne.
Day 17
Amsterdam
Start your day with an early morning walk with your Adventure Host and explore Amsterdam on a guided canal cruise.
During tulip seasons – you may opt into an excursion to the Keukenhof gardens.
Day 18
Amsterdam (DISEMBARK)
After breakfast, disembark and begin your journey home.
