Enjoy a split type of adventure; with five nights spent at a hotel in Cairo and four aboard the MS Farah on a cruise down the Nile river. Take the time to immerse yourself in Egypt’s most coveted tourist attractions, from the Sphinx of Giza to the Valley of Kings, enjoy live entertainment and lectures aboard and claim your place at the Galabeya party hosted by the Avalon Waterways team.
Day 1
Cairo
Arrive into Cairo, “Mother of the World” and check into your hotel.
Day 2
Cairo
Enjoy guided sightseeing around the pyramids and ‘Stairway to the Sky’. Pay a visit to the Sphinx of Giza and Alabaster Sphinx.
Day 3
Cairo
See the treasures of Tutankhamun’s Tomb at the Egyption Museum, pay a visit to Saladin’s citadel, the Alabaster Mosque in Old Cairo, the Hanging Church and Cairo’s oldest synagogue in Coptic Cairo.
Day 4
Cairo-Luxor (EMBARK)
Fly to Luxor to embark on the cruise portion of your holiday. Here, you have the option to visit Luxor Temple, the Avenue of Sphinxes, monument of Karnak and Temple of Amun-Ra. Otherwise, enjoy live entertainment aboard.
Day 5
Luxor-Edfu
Pay a visit to the Valley of Kings, Valley of Queens, Deir-El-Bahri and the Colossi of Memnon.
Day 6
Edu-Kom Ombo
Choose to browse through the Temple of Horus, visit the Twin Temples at Kom Ombo or enjoy a lecture aboard the ship. In the evening, claim your place at the Galabeya party onboard.
Day 7
Aswan
Enjoy live entertainment during the day, sail by Felucca to Kitchener Island and pay a visit to the Botanical Gardens.
Day 8
Aswan (DISEMBARK – Cairo)
Today you disembark the ship and fly back to Cairo. However, before that enjoy an excursion to the High Dam, cruise to Agilika to enjoy a visit to the Temple of Iris and explore ancient granite quarries.

Get stuck in on a felucca ride, guided visit to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization or a wander through the maze of shops found at the famous bazaar.
