Medieval Gems of the Main and Rhine Cruise Review

“This is the first cruise we have been on that combines two rivers and more than one country, and it’s a great choice if you only have a week to spare or are on a budget, as you can do all this in eight nights. We like history and heritage, but you don’t need to be interested in the past to enjoy the picturesque towns and villages on this trip and the beautiful river scenery. The ship is excellent, with all aspects of the accommodation and service rated five stars. We will definitely be booking again.”

Medieval Gems of the Main and Rhine FAQ

Find answers to some of the most common questions about river cruising here.

Are there medical services on board the ship?

There aren’t medical services or a resident doctor on board the Spirit of the Rhine but there is always at least one trained first aider. If you are a guest taking regular medication, then it can be helpful to write down your medicines and the dosage and keep them in your cabin in case you are taken ill during your holiday.

What are Gentle Walker Groups?

Shore excursions are graded based on their activity level. If a tour is classed as a Walking Grade 4 or higher, there will always be the option of a Gentle Walker group instead. Gentle Walker groups follow a different route and avoid long flights of steps, stairs, and steep hills. They also tend to go at a slower pace. If you prefer the route a Gentle Walker group will take, guests are free to join them at any time.

When is the balance payment due for my cruise?

The balance is due no later than 90 days before your departure date. You can call our friendly booking team and make a card payment over the phone or pay online by clicking on ‘Manage My Booking.’ You can use a different card from the one you used for the deposit, but if you want to use the same card, remember that we don’t keep card details, so we won’t automatically take the payment. You will need to either call and pay or pay online.
