This 8-day round trip opening and terminating in Porto will take you down the Douro on a unique adventure. With a large spread of tour options and destinations, we’ll make sure to expose you to new experiences – whether that’s biking through Porto alongside your Adventure host or staying aboard to enjoy a tile-painting workshop with our crew.
Day 1
Porto (EMBARK)
Climb aboard the Avalon Alegria and celebrate the beginning of your holiday with the crew at our onboard Welcome Reception.
Day 2
Entre Os Rios (excursions to Braga/Guimarães)
Choose between guided sightseeing in Braga or Guimarães, or join the tour through Romanesque to immerse yourself in culture.
Day 3
Peso da Régua
Opt to sightsee through either Peso da Régua or Lamego and enjoy visiting a local farm with optional tasting.
Day 4
Pocinho
For this stop you have two options for guided sightseeing; travel through Freixo de Numão or Vila Nova de Foz Côa with your host.
Day 5
Barca d’Alva (excursion to Salamanca)
Choose between guided sightseeing in Salamanca or Freixo de Espada à Cinta.
Day 6
Caldas de Aregos (excursion to Amarante)
Enjoy guided sightseeing through Amarante or opt to stay aboard the ship and take place in our onboard tile painting workshop, creating hand-made souvenirs to take home with you.
Day 7
Porto
For day 7, we offer two options for travelling through Porto, enjoy serene guided sightseeing or a brisk bike tour with your Adventure Host.
Day 8
Porto (DISEMBARK)
Your cruise ends this morning, disembark the Avalon Alegria and begin your journey home.
