Day 1
Porto
Arrive in Porto, where an Emerald Cruises Representative will meet you at the airport before transferring to your luxury Star-Ship.
Day 2
Porto – Pinhão
Take time to savour the beautiful scenery of the Douro River Valley with a full day’s sailing through this UNESCO World Heritage-listed landscape. Shaped by centuries of wine-growing, sample some of the fruits of the valleys at a lavis Welcome Dinner.
Day 3
Pinhão – Vega de Terrón
Visit the beautiful Quinta do Tedo vineyard in the heart of the Douro Valley and see the traditional art of viticulture dating back centuries. Guests can also choose a guided walk through local vineyards or take a kayak excursion along the river.
Day 4
Vega de Terrón – Salamanca
Known as ‘the Golden City,’ enjoy a walking tour of Salamanca, including one of Europe’s oldest universities and the Casa de las Conchas, a building adorned with more than 300 shells. There is also an optional tour to Castelo Rodrigo.
Day 5
Pocinho – Régua
Arrive in Pocinho and visit the Côa Valley Museum, one of Portugal’s largest museums with state-of-the-art technology to present centuries-old cave art. Later, enjoy a Port wine cocktail lesson on board ship with dinner at a famous wine estate.
Day 6
Régua
Take a tour of the magnificent Baroque village of Lamego with its famous Shrine of Our Lady of Remedies. Guests can opt for a mosaic tile painting lesson on board ship or a visit to the stunning 18th-century Baroque Mateus Manor House.
Day 7
Porto
Today is a chance to explore vibrant Porto, a fascinating blend of old and new, and the city that gave its name to its most famous export, Port wine. Choose either a guided tour or an active walk. There is also a guided bike tour to the Atlantic.
Day 8
Porto
Disembark in Porto and transfer to the airport to start your journey back to the UK.

Are the shore excursions suitable for passengers with limited mobility?
Some of our port stops involve uneven terrain – that might be because you are in a rural area or visiting an old town where the streets have cobblestones. Coach tours will require you to be able to ascend and descend the steps of the vehicle. You can discuss the specific tours with one of our friendly booking agents. In almost all cases, if you are travelling with a companion who can assist you, you will find all the locations perfectly accessible.
