Cologne

Cologne is an independent city in North Rhine-Westphalia, which is one of the few megacities in the Federal Republic of Germany. The Cologne Cathedral is the city's landmark, located directly on the banks of the Rhine and the main train station. A cable car leads over the Rhine and offers a fantastic view of the city. The local zoo and stadium are a real attraction for young and old. The carnival is an important part and as much a part of it as a typical brewery.

Day 4

Coblenz

Day 5

Bernkastel

Numerous half-timbered houses adorn the town of Bernkastel directly on the Moselle. Above there is a castle with a restaurant and in the old town there are numerous small boutiques and shops. The Moselle invites you to an unforgettable boat trip, but also to go kayaking or canoeing. Bernkastel is known for its ideal location on the Moselle and for the quaint old town. Together with Kues it forms a twin town, left and right of the banks of the Moselle, with numerous restaurants and bars.

Day 5

Traben Trabach

The small wine town of Traben-Trarbach is located directly on the Moselle in a beautiful valley. Surrounded by numerous wine-growing areas, it is one of the most beautiful places in the area, romantic, rustic and modern. In addition to wine tastings and a boat trip on the Moselle, you can go on a hike to Grevenburg, a ruin high up on the mountain, but the Buddha Museum should also be on the itinerary. A medieval market square adorns the center of the small town and the bridge gate is one of the old relics.

Day 6

Cochem

Cochem is the smallest district town in Germany and is located in the state of Rhineland Palatinate. Cochem is located on the Moselle and is famous for its viticulture. The city offers a picturesque view of the vineyards. The Reichsburg, which acts as the city's landmark, can be seen from afar. The place is not only very popular with bowling clubs and families. The cobblestone old town offers a leisurely tour and invites you to linger by the fountain.

Day 7

Niederlahnstein

Day 7

Rudesheim

The picturesque town of Rüdesheim is located directly on the Rhine in Hesse and has numerous sights, such as the famous Drosselgasse, where there are numerous wine bars, but also a castle, a torture museum, in which medieval torture instruments and the history of the Inquisition are exhibited. A cable car goes up to the Niederwald monument, which is located above the city. From here you can go on a wonderful hike through untouched forest areas and then come to the chairlift that leads directly to Assmannshausen. This is also located on the Rhine.

Day 8

Frankfurt

Frankfurt am Main is a banking city with numerous skyscrapers in the city center, which can be seen from afar. The Main invites you to visit special destinations with excursion boats. The Römer is the town hall in the historic center of Frankfurt. Here on the Römerberg there are picturesque rows Half-timbered houses next to each other, some of which have only recently been reconstructed. Also nearby are the house where Goethe was born, the Goethe House, and the Paulskirche as a memorial to the beginning of democracy.

Day 9

Wertheim

The small town of Wertheim is located where the Tauber River meets the Main. Magnificent half-timbered buildings shape the marketplace. The parish church, which dates from the Gothic era, is one of the sights of the village. The Counts of Wertheim, who ruled here from the 15th to the 18th century, found their final resting place in the interior. Other tourist attractions include the glass museum and a stately castle that sits enthroned on a mountain high above the city.

Day 10

Wurzburg

The Bavarian city of Würzburg with its impressive buildings in Baroque and Rococo styles is definitely worth a visit. Below the Marienberg Fortress, which is well worth seeing, there are walking paths through the beautiful vineyards that stretch right down to the Main. This is where the good Franconian wine comes from in Bocksbeuteln. The Würzburg Residence is a special attraction, as is the monumental Käppele pilgrimage church. The cathedral and the striking old bridge over the Main are also special points of contact. The Haus zum Falken on the market square is built in Rococo and Gothic styles.
