Jazz Cruise on the Moselle Itinerary

Day 1

Dusseldorf

Düsseldorf is an independent city that is one of the major cities in North Rhine-Westphalia. As the state capital, it houses the state parliament and is an important location for the media world. The MedienHafen with its impressive and architecturally extraordinary buildings, cafés and restaurants makes this clear. The old town and the Königsallee are very popular with tourists and locals alike. The Rhine Tower is a landmark of the city of Düsseldorf. The Rhine bridge and promenade are a popular place to picnic or go for a walk.

Day 2

Coblenz

Day 3

Traben Trabach

The small wine town of Traben-Trarbach is located directly on the Moselle in a beautiful valley. Surrounded by numerous wine-growing areas, it is one of the most beautiful places in the area, romantic, rustic and modern. In addition to wine tastings and a boat trip on the Moselle, you can go on a hike to Grevenburg, a ruin high up on the mountain, but the Buddha Museum should also be on the itinerary. A medieval market square adorns the center of the small town and the bridge gate is one of the old relics.

Day 3

Bernkastel

Numerous half-timbered houses adorn the town of Bernkastel directly on the Moselle. Above there is a castle with a restaurant and in the old town there are numerous small boutiques and shops. The Moselle invites you to an unforgettable boat trip, but also to go kayaking or canoeing. Bernkastel is known for its ideal location on the Moselle and for the quaint old town. Together with Kues it forms a twin town, left and right of the banks of the Moselle, with numerous restaurants and bars.

Day 4

Trier

Trier impresses with its buildings from Roman times - above all the well-preserved Porta Nigra. But the city's churches are also worth visiting. The oldest city in Germany was founded around the year 16 BC. Founded by the Romans under Emperor Augustus. Charlemagne made the city an archbishopric. In hardly any other German city are the legacies of the Romans so abundant as in Trier. You can even drink it in the form of wine. The wine terraces on the Moselle and Saar valleys look back on 2000 years of history.

Day 5

Cochem

Cochem is the smallest district town in Germany and is located in the state of Rhineland Palatinate. Cochem is located on the Moselle and is famous for its viticulture. The city offers a picturesque view of the vineyards. The Reichsburg, which acts as the city's landmark, can be seen from afar. The place is not only very popular with bowling clubs and families. The cobblestone old town offers a leisurely tour and invites you to linger by the fountain.

Day 5

Treis-Karden

Day 6

Rudesheim

The picturesque town of Rüdesheim is located directly on the Rhine in Hesse and has numerous sights, such as the famous Drosselgasse, where there are numerous wine bars, but also a castle, a torture museum, in which medieval torture instruments and the history of the Inquisition are exhibited. A cable car goes up to the Niederwald monument, which is located above the city. From here you can go on a wonderful hike through untouched forest areas and then come to the chairlift that leads directly to Assmannshausen. This is also located on the Rhine.

Day 6

Loreley Passage

Day 6

Konigswinter

The city of Königswinter in North Rhine-Westphalia is located on the eastern bank of the Rhine. The village at the foot of the Siebengebirge has around 41,000 inhabitants. Numerous monuments and museums worth seeing make a visit to the city an unforgettable experience. For example, the Siebengebirgsmuseum provides detailed information about the legendary mountain landscape, which is after all the oldest nature reserve in Germany. In Sea Life, visitors can experience the underwater world up close and the Nibelungenhalle is not only an architectural masterpiece but also houses a reptile zoo. Drachenburg Castle towers high up on the Drachenfels and is one of the landmarks of Königswinter. The imposing structure is reminiscent of a fairytale castle and provides a wonderful view of the region. The Hirschburg is also a historic building in this city. The historic villa is located in a quiet area in the region around the nightingale valley. A kilometer-long tunnel system called Ofenkaulen leads through the middle of the Siebengebirge. The origin of these tunnels is said to go back to the Middle Ages.
