The Saône River valley enjoys a wonderfully varied climate that makes it a rewarding destination in every season, each one offering its own distinct charm.

Spring (March – May) brings the valley to life. Temperatures climb steadily, averaging around 15°C in April, with the riverbanks bursting into blossom. Showers are fairly regular, but sunny spells grow longer as the season progresses.

Summer (June – August) is warm and sunny, perfect for sitting out on deck. Average daytime temperatures reach a comfortable 28°C in July, and July also boasts the most sunshine with around 11 hours of daylight.

Autumn (September – November) is arguably the most atmospheric season of all. May, June, and September are among the most pleasant months, with agreeable average temperatures between 20°C and 26°C. The vineyards turn amber and gold, and, as November approaches, morning mists drift across the water, giving the valley a wonderfully cinematic quality. November tends to be the wettest month, so pack some extra layers.

Winter (December – February) temperatures typically range from around 0°C to as low as -6°C on the coldest nights, and December sees just under two hours of sunshine per day on average.

AmaCello has two restaurants: the Main Restaurant for elegant dining and The Chef’s Table for an intimate multi-course tasting experience with views into the open kitchen. You can also order delicious tapas between meals in the Main Lounge. Menus reflect the regions you sail through, and all dining venues are designed to feel welcoming. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other dietary needs are happily accommodated.
