Traverse the Dutch and Belgian waterways on this unique itinerary – designed to conduct guests along the rarely-traversed IJsselmeer river. Guests enjoy the opportunity to explore a range of unique ports and dive into local histories.
Day 1
Arrive to Amsterdam
Travel to Amsterdam and embark the spectacular Amadeus Elegant – your home for the next 11 nights.
Day 2
Amsterdam / Hoorn
Kick off your adventure exploring the harbour town of Hoorn – you may wish to pay a visit to one of many historic buildings, including the State Council building.
Day 3
Enkhuizen / Den Helder
Today, explore the unique Zuiderzee Museum, which exhibits over 140 historic buildings. Pay a visit to its quirky bottle shop museum.
Day 4
Den Helder / Oudeschild
Spend the day exploring Den Helder; originally a small fishing village, this fortified location is home to the Dutch Naval College and Admiralty Palace.
Day 5
Oudeschild / Harlingen
Enjoy an included tour of the island – visiting fields, pine forests, sand dunes and windmills.
Day 6
Harlingen / Sneek
You have the day to adventure through this prosperous harbour town.
Day 7
Sneek / Kampen
Adventure through the picturesque village of Sneek – you may wish to pay a visit to the symbolic 17th century water gate at the end of Koemarkt.
Day 8
Kampen / Deventer
Spend the morning enjoying some free time in the bustling Kampen. This afternoon, the your ship will set sail along the rarely cruised IJssel river.
Day 9
Deventer
Traverse Deventer’s historic centre – see the Weigh House, Town Hall, Churches of St Lebuin and St Nicholas as well as a renaissance merchant’s house – AKA the ‘House of the Three Herrings’. Later, you’ll enjoy an included visit to the 17th century Het Loo Palace.
Day 10
Deventer / Nijmegen
For today, you may opt to embark on an optional excursion revealing some of the sights associated with famous battles from World War Two.
Day 11
Amsterdam
This morning, join an included cruise along Amsterdam’s iconic canals. From the city centre, see the famed Skinny Bridge, Montelbaanstoren tower and Jewish Quarter.
Day 12
Depart Amsterdam
After a pleasant breakfast, disembark your ship and begin your return journey.
