Marseille – Arles

Fly to Marseille and receive a warm welcome from your travel representative. Transfer to Arles and step on board your luxury Emerald Star-Ship. Enjoy a Welcome Reception and Dinner.

Day 2

Arles

Famous for its UNESCO-listed Roman and Romanesque monuments, Arles was also home to Vincent Van Gogh, who drew inspiration from the city. Enjoy a guided tour of Arles and, in the evening, a Provençal dinner hosted by a top chef with EmeraldPLUS.

Day 3

Avignon

Viviers

Tournon

Sail into Tournon to be greeted by the most fabulous view of the magnificent 16th-century castle. Stroll through the village, take an EmeraldACTIVE guided hike through the surrounding vineyards, or enjoy a guided bike tour to Glun.

Day 6

Lyon

A top destination for food lovers, Lyonnaise cuisine is celebrated throughout France and beyond. Enjoy a walking or guided bike tour of the city, including the UNESCO-listed Basilica, the Renaissance Old Town, and the regal 19th-century Presqu’île quarter.

Day 7

Chalon-sur-Saône – Beaune

Travel by road to the quaint village of Beaune and visit the Hospices de Beaune, a glory of 15th-century French architecture and now home to one of France’s most famous wine auctions. With EmeraldPLUS, enjoy a cheese and olive tasting on board the ship.

Day 8

Lyon – Basel

Disembark your cruise ship after breakfast and transfer by coach to Basel, where your river voyage will continue on another Emerald Star-Ship.

Day 9

Breisach

Enjoy a guided bike tour in beautiful Breisach or join an excursion to Freiburg as part of the EmeraldPLUS programme. Freiburg is the ‘Capital of the Black Forest,’ and guests can taste traditional local cuisines, including the legendary Kirschtorte.

Are visitors allowed on board Emerald Star-Ships?

Visitors may join passengers on the cruise ship, but they will have to pay for any food and drink they consume. If passengers want non-resident guests to join them, then the paperwork is organised by Emerald’s team in the UK.

Are there any laundry facilities provided on board Emerald Star-Ships?

Guests in the Owner’s One-bedroom Suite and Riverview Suites have a complementary laundry service for up to four items daily. Guests in Emerald Grand Balcony Suites can have two items per day laundered. All other suites and cabins offer passengers a laundry service for an additional fee.
