Castles and Fables of the Rhine: Frankfurt to Düsseldorf Cruise Review

“This cruise was the perfect blend of vibrant cities and smaller, historic towns and villages with a real emphasis on German folklore and culture, coupled with the most fantastic river views, especially through the Middle Rhine Gorge. This is our umpteenth time sailing with Saga, and the vessel, Spirit of the Rhine, certainly did not disappoint. This cruise is interesting and a bit different. We thought we knew the Rhine well, but this showed us some different locations and insights.”

Castles and Fables of the Rhine: Frankfurt to Düsseldorf FAQ

How do I tell Saga if I have additional needs?

There are certain health conditions and guest requirements that we need to know about, and these include if you have a physical disability (temporary or permanent) or impairment, are living with a mental health condition such as dementia, or have learning difficulties. This knowledge enables our dedicated staff to help keep you safe and ensure you enjoy the best cruise possible. Please also tell us if you have a long-term illness or a hearing, sight, or speech impairment. You can send this information by email or talk to one of our friendly team on the phone. All guest information is treated in the strictest confidence.

Are there medical services on board the Spirit of the Rhine?

The Spirit of the Rhine has at least one trained first aider on every cruise. If you bring medicines on board that you take regularly, we recommend keeping a note in a prominent location in your cabin. This may be useful if a first aider or staff member needs to refer to this information if you become unwell during your holiday.

What are Gentle Walker Groups?

At Saga, we grade shore excursions on their activity level, so guests always know in advance how demanding a tour will be. Walking tours graded 4 or higher always have a Gentle Walker group option. Gentle Walker groups follow a slower pace and a different route, avoiding steps, stairs, and steep inclines. Guests are free to join a Gentle Walker group at any time.
