Fly to Madrid, the vibrant capital of Spain, where a warm Mediterranean welcome awaits you. Meet your travel representative and transfer to a hotel in the heart of the city for a two-night stay.
Day 2
Madrid
Enjoy an insightful and informative guided tour of Madrid, including its bustling city centre, and explore the colourful past of the Spanish capital. Discover the Sabatini Gardens and Gran Via with time after the tour to explore at your leisure.
Day 3
Madrid – Porto
Transfer from your Madrid hotel to the airport for a flight to Porto. Join your luxury Emerald Star-Ship and enjoy a warm welcome from the Captain, followed by dinner with the other guests.
Day 4
Porto – Pinhão
Pinhão sits on a bend of the River Douro, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed area famous for producing port wine and other vintages. Cruise the picturesque landscape and experience the incredible scenery. Tonight, enjoy a Welcome Dinner and cocktail reception.
Day 5
Pinhão – Vega de Terrón
Discover the beautiful Quinta do Tedo in the heart of the Douro Valley, an 18th-century estate committed to environmentally sound organic wine production. Enjoy a guided walk through local vineyards with a wine tasting, or take to the water in a kayak.
Day 6
Vega de Terrón – Salamanca
Explore the ‘Golden City’ on a walking tour that includes the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Old Quarter, the university, one of the oldest in Europe, and the galleries and arcades of Plaza Mayor. There is a DiscoverMORE tour to Castelo Rodrigo.
Day 7
Pocinho – Régua

Régua

What are the on board dining times?
Breakfast is served from 07.00 to 09.00, lunch from 12.00 to 14.00, and dinner from 09.00 to 21.00. Guests enjoy a fantastic variety of local and regional cuisine alongside staple favourites, including vegan and vegetarian choices.
Can visitors join me on board Emerald Star-Ships?
Visitors may come on board, but you will need to organise the paperwork with Emerald’s team in the UK ahead of time. Visitors will need to pay for any food and drink they consume.
Are there any laundry facilities on board Emerald Star-Ships?
Guests in the Owner’s One-bedroom Suite and Riverview Suites have a complementary laundry service for up to four items daily. Emerald Grand Balcony Suites guests can have two items per day laundered without charge. All other suites and cabins offer passengers a laundry service for an additional fee.
